Plym Physio Classes
The classes at Plym Physio have developed over the years we’ve been at our clinic in Plympton. The gym space Nic insisted on having is invaluable for providing the level of care and rehabilitation we want to offer our patients. The space lends itself really well to group rehab. It’s big enough to get equipment out but not so big that we can’t offer bespoke sessions allowing our clients to get affordable, tailored expert physiotherapy rehab for their condition.
So what classes do we offer and what might be right for you? Here’s a list of what we offer but we’ve got our Physio’s to put together a short concise description to help you make an informed decision. Our Physios will guide you as to what they feel would suit you best but some people really like a certain type of exercise format and hopefully these short videos will help.
Plym Pilates – Pilates that has been modified from traditional concepts into a movement efficiency class. It incorporates mobility, biomechanics, movement patterns, strengthening and balance. The class uses some small equipment like resistance bands, balls, blocks to develop strength, mobility and stability in standing as well as on the matted floor.
Strength & Resilience – A circuit based progressive weights class designed to develop strength in all our key areas. Lots of lower limb focus to develop force transfer strategies and central/core stability and control. Particularly good for people with activity related pain – certain movements/loads trigger pain and strengthening will increase capacity and reduce pain.
Balance & Strength – An ‘all rounder’ class for our older clients. Those that have mobility restrictions and aren’t getting up and down from the floor but need to improve balance, strength and mobility and body awareness to perhaps be looking at fall prevention and quality of life through aging.
Active & Able – An exercise class with something for everyone. If you are looking to improve your balance , mobility or strength this is the class for you. Accessible for people of all levels, this acts as an intermediate group. We can help you improve your current level of fitness or help you maintain the levels you have, this class aims to allow you to build/maintain your independence through personalised , tailored exercise classes.
